Now that I've spent the week getting to the point where I think I should be rewarded with a cupcake for not blowdarting clinical staff for their cantankerous bastardisms, I have nearly forgotten about my awesome vacation last long weekend so I think it is about time to re-live it!!
I hopped on the bus that I normally take to work, but at 4 a.m. A balance-impaired man got on the bus and then, one stop later, moved to the seat facing me...directly across from me...on a bus that had only 3 other passengers... and made me think I might have to miss my plane while I continued to ride the bus around Minneapolis and Saint Paul until the sun came up and I could safely exit. I lucked out, though, and a couple of hard-bitten, early-rising chicks got on the bus and then got off at my stop.
After amusing the passengers next to me by nearly breaking my neck about 5 times while trying to sleep with the airplane seat straight up instead of reclined, I arrived in Denver. The day involved much napping in preparation for the Bob Dylan concert at Red Rocks in the evening!!!
This is photo is of Andre, Kim, and their bouncing baby boy, Nate at the concert taken with my contraband camera.

Most of the day Nate was riding front and I was in the back. I think we had a good system going, especially for the ride back UP: I exploited Nate and his tree-trunk appendages 80% of the time, then stood up at the very top of a hill and provided a final push.
We hung around the Dion homestead in Westmonster on Saturday and flew out at the crack of dawn Sunday--me back home for the dreaded Sunday-night "Small Group Communication" group meeting, Nate to Austin to get Inter-Baccalaureate training for the new school they're starting this year.
And, as an unrelated aside, has anyone seen the Transformers movie? Because I thought it was the funniest thing I've seen since Fast And The Furious III: Tokyo Drift. Don't think of it as a waste of money, think of it as a longer (and funnier, and much cooler, temperature-wise) version of crumpling up some dollar bills and having a little ant barbeque on the sidewalk--that's fun, right? Well, dear readers (Erin and Jessi, so far), I'll leave you with that to ponder for the day.
